THERE has been a lot of talk coming from Easter Road this season but it is Rangers who have got their message across on the park.

Hibs have had their say on what Rangers have been doing and Alan Stubbs has had a go on a couple of occasions. But, at the end of the day, it has backfired on Hibs.

It is only a fortnight since they were singing ‘Sunshine on Leith’ after beating Hearts and they thought they were going somewhere this season and were going for the Treble. Now, three league games later, Rangers have won the Championship and are storming clear at the top of the table.

Hibs haven’t blown it, Rangers have won it. They haven’t dropped points and they have shown a level of consistency and determination that has made the difference. Hibs’ chances of getting anywhere near Rangers are gone now.

Rangers were getting criticism for only winning games 1-0 or 2-0 over the last few weeks but they were still winning and that is the most important thing. We got the points on the board and we built up momentum at just the right time.

Alan Stubbs would have been delighted with three 1-0 wins against Morton, Dumbarton and Queen of the South.

At this stage of the season, it doesn’t matter how you win. If you get the three points, that is all that is important.

Now we are 14 points clear and we will win the league in a matter of weeks. A maximum of five wins from our last nine games will get it done and dusted.

Mark’s message has been the same all along and he is right. There is no point looking at Hibs and Falkirk and seeing what they are doing. It is about what Rangers do.

We have looked after ourselves all through the season and we are going to win the league.

To be honest, I hope Hibs come up as well through the play-offs. Scottish football needs our biggest clubs in the Premiership and having Rangers and Hibs back in the league can only be good for the game.
