HARRY FORRESTER insists he isn’t focused on his Rangers future as he looks to continue to impress at Ibrox between now and the end of the season.

The forward has scored three times in his last three outings in Light Blue as Mark Warburton’s side have seen off St Mirren, Raith Rovers and Dundee.

Some fans were initially sceptical of what Forrester would bring to the Gers attack following his switch from Doncaster last year but the Englishman is determined to show what he can do during a crucial few weeks for Warburton’s side.

Forrester said: “No, there has been no conversation yet.

“I have just got myself into the team and getting back to the levels I feel I should be at. I have not played a great deal of football this season so I am just happy playing football.

“I love playing at Ibrox, the fans have warmed to me in the last couple of weeks and I am enjoying every moment of it.

“Of course, and I fully understand [why some fans were sceptical]. From an outsider’s point of view, I couldn’t get in the Doncaster team when they were down the bottom of League One so they say ‘what is he going to do for us?’

“There were a lot of factors why I didn’t play at Doncaster and sometimes that happens in football. You are not fancied by someone and someone else feels they can get the best out of you and they do

“I want to stay for longer. It is not up to me, it is up to the football club.

“In my first six months here, if I could win the league, play in an Old Firm game and see where we go, there are not many better starts.

“We will see what happens at the end of the season. I am just focusing on the next game. I have just started getting in the team so that is what I want to continue to do.”

After a steady start to life at Ibrox, Forrester has come to the fore in recent weeks to boost Rangers’ Championship title challenge and clinch a Scottish Cup semi-final spot.

And the 25-year-old is thankful to boss Warburton for giving him a platform to showcase his talents.

He said: “The manager told from day one just to go out and play. He knows me as a person but I have always been keen to impress and sometimes you can be a bit too keen.

“The first goal helped me and we have just gone from there.

“It always helps that the fans are warming to me. It’s good to have them on my side.

“I think the first goal was breathing space for me. I’ve kicked on and the team has done the same.”
