WES FODERINGHAM admits Hampden felt like home sweet home for Rangers as they clinched their second medal of the campaign on Sunday.

And the keeper reckons the first pieces of silverware of his Light Blues career prove why he was right to make the move north of the border in the summer.

Foderingham played a key role for Mark Warburton’s side as they secured the Championship title with a handful of games to spare and he was a virtual spectator during the 4-0 Petrofac Training Cup success against Peterhead.

Next on the agenda for the Gers is the Old Firm Scottish Cup clash as Warburton’s look to set up a final showdown with Dundee United or Hibernian at the National Stadium.

Glasgow Times:

And former Swindon star Foderingham is pleased Rangers have been able to repay the Light Blue legions for their backing from the stands this term.

He told rangers.co.uk: “To walk out and see that many fans meant it felt like a home game. The amount of fans we had here was incredible, and they have been fantastic all season, both home and away.

“They really spur us on and help us when we need it.

“[On Sunday], we performed very well, defended very well and scored four goals.

“For us, it’s all about bringing a winning mentality back, and preparing us for next week as well.

Glasgow Times:

“Tuesday night was fantastic, and it was great to win another medal [on Sunday]. It’s massive for me personally.

“Every competition we enter, we try and win. In the earlier rounds we performed very well and carried that on into the final.

“It was the right decision straight away to be honest. When I came up and looked at the place, I instantly fell in love with it.

“Games like this reiterate that and make me sure that I definitely made the right decision, and I am looking forward to winning more things with Rangers in the future.”
