MARK WARBURTON suffered an injury blow with the news that Harry Forrester has been ruled out of the game with Celtic due to injury. There are not that many selection dilemmas for the Rangers boss and here is how I think the team will line up at Hampden on Sunday.

WES FODERINGHAM

He is the only choice when he is fit. Cammy Bell has come back from injury but hasn’t been able to force his way into the team. Wes has done really well this season and I have no problems whatsoever with him starting on Sunday.

JAMES TAVERNIER

He is the only natural right-back in the squad and he has been excellent going forward. His role will be a bit different against Celtic and he will have to defend well. We know he is a real threat going forward. Hopefully he can have an impact at both ends of the park at Hampden.

DANNY WILSON

One of the few players in the squad who has Old Firm experience but I don’t think he is a great talker. He has been playing there alongside Kiernan for a while now and they are the partnership so you are not going to break that up going into the Celtic game.

ROB KIERNAN

He has had games where he has been very good this season and he has proven that he is a decent defender. He has played the majority of the games for Rangers and the manager clearly trusts him so he will certainly be a starter.

LEE WALLACE

Lee is the captain and the man that everyone looks up to. He will get forward and he will create but he will have to watch his runs up the left wing and keep in mind the players Celtic have got in attack. He will have to do an awful lot of talking to lead the back four through the game.

DOMINIC BALL

He is not naturally a midfield player but he has done well in that holding position and he will be crucial sitting in front of the back four. He will not be asked to get forward or make cutting passes. He is there to defend and allow Holt and Halliday to get forward. Celtic are a physical side as well so he will have a big part to play.

ANDY HALLIDAY

It is a massive game for Andy and, being a Rangers man, he will be determined to win on Sunday. The atmosphere will be like nothing else he has experienced before, even including the games at Ibrox and the Petrofac last weekend. This is different. Andy can’t afford to get carried away, he needs to calm himself down. He will be up against Scott Brown so he won’t want to get involved too early in the game.

JASON HOLT

Jason has been outstanding this season and, for me, he is one of the top three players for us this year. He has loads of energy, he gets about the park and he gets into the box to score goals. He is a really important player for the team and the manager will be looking for him to have a really influential role once again.

NICKY LAW

With Forrester out, I think Nicky will come in and play wide right. He can get forward, he works hard and he can get good deliveries into the box. I know he doesn’t usually play wide but it could be a real chance for him. He is out of contract in the summer and he will be determined to impress so hopefully, if he does play, he does well.

BARRIE MCKAY

He has all the qualities to be a match winner and Rangers need him to be on his game. It can pass you by very quickly so when you do get the ball you have to use it wisely. He has got great pace but he will need to track back and defend as well.

KENNY MILLER

Kenny will have to talk to the players around him to help them through the game but it is about more than his experience. His movement is good, he is scoring goals and he will be the main man and the favourite to get Rangers a goal. We won’t have the majority of the ball so we need to get it forward quickly to the men that matter in the final third.

PREDICTION

It is a heart versus head one for me. There is no reason why Rangers can’t win but Celtic will be up for it and they will win the Premiership. My heart says Rangers and I would usually go with my heart. I would never rule out Rangers but Celtic have the experience so they are rightly favourites and will be expecting to win the game.
