Wes Foderingham (7) Not a great deal to do. Helpless for both Sviatchenko’s and Rogic’s levellers. Great block in stoppage time to deny the Australian a second. Saved from Brown in shootout

James Tavernier (8) The prospect of marshalling Roberts was not enough to knock the rampaging right-back. Played his part going forward and in defence, although let himself down with woeful spot kick.

Rob Kiernan (7) Kept Griffiths quiet, particularly in the first half. Looked assured and not overawed by the drama and occasion. Subbed off late on walking awkwardly.

Danny Wilson (6) Hard to think of an occasion when the centre-half had a stand out moment. Says it all about how much trouble was caused for him by a tiring Celtic attack.

Lee Wallace (7) The Rangers captain was tested early on by Roberts, but later had Mackay-Steven in his back pocket. Joined Tavernier in attack whenever he could. Calmly slotted away his penalty.

Dean Shiels (5) Brought in to replace the injured Harry Forrester on the right for a rare start. Handled the game well enough before making way for Nicky Law midway through the second half.

Jason Holt (6) Kept the ball moving quickly. Was part of a Rangers midfield that danced through Celtic at times.

Dominic Ball (5) Had the odd shaky moment but did well enough in providing a reliable base for Rangers to go forward.

Andy Halliday (8) The Glaswegian had waited for this game his whole life and did not disappoint. Was arguably Rangers’ key man in the first half and kicked off the shoot out with a calm finish.

Barrie McKay (10) A sensation down the left hand side. Regularly beat Lustig and was a threat from the flanks and through the middle. Produced a stunning finish to send Rangers 2-1 up, also finished – just – in penalty shootout.

Kenny Miller (7) Through on goal on six minutes but was denied by Gordon. Did not miss 10 minutes later as he turned the ball under the Celtic keeper. Ran himself ragged and was taken off at the start of extra-time.

SUBSTITUTES:

Nicky Law (5) On for Shiels on 66 minutes. Muted performance but contributed with spot kick shot that would prove the difference.

Gedion Zelalem (4) on for Kiernan on 88 minutes. Not a stand out but didn’t miss during shoot out.

Nicky Clark (4) On for Miller on 91 minutes. A shadow of the player Rangers signed from Queen of the South. Missed his chance in deciding spot kick lottery.
