Mark Warburton’s side produced a superb performance to see off Old Firm rivals Celtic as they emerged victorious on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Hampden.
Championship counterparts Hibernian now lie in wait for the Gers as they look to clinch a third medal this term and playmaker Holt was thrilled with a debut derby triumph.

He said: “It was incredible. What a great day for everyone – the team, the fans and the club in general. We’re all delighted to get that outcome and it’s a great feeling.
“I thought we were the better team and thoroughly deserved to win the game. It obviously went to penalties but even there the boys did so well.
“The support was unbelievable, and we’ve had that the whole season. The boys really thrive off it.
“Our character and work ethic and team ethic has been there all season. We proved that again when Celtic came back into the game twice, but we kept going and got our rewards.
“We have games left in the league, but we will look forward to the final and be fully prepared for it when it comes around.”
