FALKIRK and Hibernian will battle it out for second place in the Championship this weekend as the final round of fixtures are played on Sunday and it is a really important day for both clubs.

Hibs gave themselves a chance with a 4-0 win over Dumbarton on Tuesday night and they are now level on points with Falkirk ahead of their games with Queen of the South and Morton respectively.

Peter Houston and Alan Stubbs will be determined to avoid having to face Raith Rovers in the first round of the play-off games, not just because it will be a really tough tie against them, but because of the fact they then face an extra two games to get to the Premiership.

There will be an advantage for whoever finishes second but both teams will still really fancy their chances of getting out of the Championship this season.

I would fancy Falkirk or Hibs to get by Raith in the first two games and it will then be down to a really tight double header at Westfield and Easter Road. That one will be really difficult to call but the winner will have the Premiership in sight.

I think that whoever does get through that tie will have a real chance of winning promotion next month and they will be confident going into the final against Kilmarnock or Hamilton Accies. If Killie lose at New Douglas Park on Saturday, it will surely be them that finishes eleventh.

I would not be surprised if the last Championship team standing is able to get over the line and take their place alongside Rangers in the top flight for next season.
