Paul Lambert became the latest manager to be linked with the Celtic job this week. As I said in the column last Saturday, there will be a feeling that it has to be an experienced, ‘Celtic’ man to take the job and that is the way it looks with all names having a connection in some way to the club.
In some ways I think that is a shame because you close off a lot of other options.
However, right now I cannot see one outstanding candidate who looks capable of having all the attributes to go in and cure all the ills that have affected the club this season.
If you were in Peter Lawwell’s shoes then the best thing to do is simply to speak to everyone available and come to a decision about just who ticks the most boxes.
