Kilmarnock boss Lee Clark admits he might have a fight on his hands this summer to keep hold of No.1Jamie MacDonald.

The former Hearts stopper was named the Rugby Park outfit's player of the season in recognition of his impressive displays during the campaign.

He showed his class again on Wednesday night with a string of top saves to keep his team in the match during the 1-1 draw against Dundee in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

Killie take on already-relegated Dundee United on Saturday in their final league match of the season before facing a play-off battle against either Falkirk or Hibernian to keep hold of their Premiership place.

But Clark admits it could have been his side in the Tangerines' position had it not been for the 30-year-old's interventions this term.

And the manager knows MacDonald's form this season will not have gone unnoticed, confessing he will not be surprised to see rival clubs try to poach the goalkeeper away.

Clark said: "My mantra is that you can't hide bad players and you can't hide good players.

"People will see Jamie has been impressive and that other players have been impressive.

"So we will see what the summer brings and deal with it accordingly.

"But what I can say is that I've not seen a keeper better than Jamie in this league this season.

"He's saved us on numerous occasions in my time here and did it again last night at Dundee. We could have been far worse off without him.

"He gave us a chance to stay in the game because, certainly in the first half, we could have been two or three down had it not been for his saves.

"He gives us that confidence that if we are breached defensively, he can dig us out of a hole."
