MARK WARBURTON is working to add players to his Rangers squad for next season but there will be a few heading for the Ibrox exit door at the end of the campaign.

Billy King, Gedion Zelalem and Dominic Ball have played their part during their loan spells this year but only Gedion has a chance to play in the Scottish Cup final next weekend.

Billy will go back to Hearts and I am sure he will be determined to try and break through there.

He will have learned a lot from being at Rangers, he has played a few games and he will be desperate to go back and prove himself at Tynecastle. I don’t see him being here next season.

Gedion shone at first but he missed a few games through injury in the second half of the season. Overall, he has been a decent signing though.

Arsene Wenger will need to sign players in the summer and Zelalem will be looking to catch the eye before the new season. Arsene will have watched him and he may well be involved in a few squads for Arsenal. He will have benefitted from his time at Rangers but he will go back as well.

The other is Dominic and he is one that Mark might go for again, but it would have to be on loan. He is a talented boy and it will cost too much to get him on a permanent deal.

We will see what Spurs have planned for him and where he ends up playing next season.

With the three of them going back, the manager has places to fill in the squad.

The group isn’t good enough to challenge for the title right now and with the loan players, plus the likes of Nicky Law, Nicky Clark, David Templeton and Dean Shiels out of contract, we will need numbers over the summer.

It is important that they are the right quality, though. It won’t be signing players just to give you a bit more depth, it will be players to give us strength.

The quicker he can get them in the better and I would think there would be a few new faces coming in ahead of the return to pre-season in a few weeks’ time.
