Kristoffer Ajer is excited about the prospect of working with Brendan Rodgers, given the Celtic’s manager’s reputation for getting the best out of young players.
The teenager played his final game with Start – a 5-0 defeat – before signing out of Norway for Glasgow.
And while the departure of Ronny Deila, who signed the player in the January transfer window, has thrown a little bit of uncertainty on the 6 foot 5 inch youngster, he believes that he is ready to fight for his place in Rodgers’ squad.

“I'll be there as part of the A squad and expect to have to fight for playing time on an equal footing with everyone else,” he said. “I have not talked to Rodgers, but from what I've seen in terms of young players in other clubs he has coached, I look forward to it,” he said.
The teenager has revealed that his mother – both parents will accompany him to Glasgow – started packing for the move to Celtic in January.
And, to highlight his youth he explained that his schoolmates are jealous of his move to the Parkhead club.

“They think it's very sad, but they also think it's cool and they understand that I'm leaving,” he told the Norwegian press. “Mum has packed since January, so I assume she has control.”
One banner at his final game read "Came as a kid, travelling as a man," and Ajer was disappointed to end his time at the club on the back of such a heavy defeat.
“It was a very nice farewell before the game, but it was a pity that it should end this way,” he said. “I had hoped to perform better in front of the fans for the wonderful time I had here at the club.” Ajer holds both the record as the youngest player in the Norwegian Premier League and the youngest goalscorer for the Kristiansand club.
