CELTIC are reportedly holding talks with Liverpool to try and sign £3 million defender Andre Wisdom.

Brendan Rodgers is believed to be looking to strengthen his defence and Wisdom could be heading out of Anfield with Jurgen Klopp's restructuring of the squad underway.

The Daily Mail has reported that the Hoops were negotiating with the Premier League club on Sunday night after making initial contact on Saturday.

Rodgers is said to be keen on acquiring the 23-year-old and the transfer could cost the Parkhead club £3 million as talks continue.

Wisdom has played at every youth level with England but has struggled to cement a place in the Liverpool squad. He spent last season on loan at Norwich City, making 10 Premier League appearances for the Canaries.

Although right-back is his primary position, Wisdom is capable of filling in at centre-back, which could prove useful to Rodgers as he sweats over the fitness of Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata ahead of next month's Champions League qualifiers.
