Rangers have dismissed reports that negotiations to extend the contract of manager Mark Warburton have broken down.

The Ibrox club are believed to be keen to double Warburton’s current £300,000 a year contract after he led them to the Championship title last season and picked up the PFA manager of the year award.

While that has yet to be formalised, the club have moved to assuage any fears over their manager’s commitment to the long-term plan he signed up to at Ibrox following the story in the English press.

A club spokesman said: “We successfully achieved our target for the first year of our three-year contract and remain on course for the coming year.”

“Mark remains committed to seeing this exciting project through to the end and continues to express his thanks to the supporters and to the board for the opportunity and support the club has given him.”

Meanwhile, Rangers have also denied that they are interested in bringing Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw to the club, despite reports linking the Welshman with a move to Ibrox.

The frontman netted 20 goals for the second-successive season with the Saddlers, and only missed out on Chris Coleman's squad for Euro 2016 because of a calf injury.

Rangers have been credited with an interest Bradshaw ever since chief scout Frank McParland was seen taking in a Walsall match last November, but the club have stated that there is nothing in new reports linking him with a move to the club this week.
