The draw for the first round of the revamped Irn-Bru Scottish Challenge Cup took place today, featuring the Under-20 teams of all 12 Premiership clubs.

The format of the competition has been altered ahead of the 2016/17 season, with top-flight clubs entering youth teams and clubs from Northern Ireland and Wales also involved.

The first round ties will take place on Tuesday August 2 and Wednesday August 3 and have been regionalised into north and south sections.Glasgow Times: GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - APRIL 10: Kenny Miller of Rangers holds the trophy during the Petrofac Training Cup Final between Rangers and Peterhead at Hampden Park on April 10, 2016 in Glasgow, Scotland. The 2016/17 season Championship clubs will then enter the competition in the third round.

At this stage, Welsh Premier League clubs Bala Town and The New Saints will also join, along with Northern Ireland Football League outfits Crusaders and Linfield.
