DAVE KING has been responding to questions that the fans have sent him in recent days and has covered a lot of bases concerning transfer strategy and historical issues at the club.

One topic that came up was that of Murray Park and Dave has asked the fans for suggestions over what to call it as he considers renaming the training ground in the future. For me, it should be the Davie Cooper Football Academy.

We are talking about a place where you hone your skills and where the players improve themselves to be the best they can be. It would be fitting if Coop was remembered in this way.

We are talking about a man that was terrific for Rangers, a player that got the fans off their seats and was adored by the supporters.

He was an entertainer and that is what Rangers are all about. There was no bigger entertainer than Davie Cooper so I think his name should be involved in it.

Davie has been remembered by other clubs but when you talk about Rangers and skill, he is the man that comes to mind.

He was like Jim Baxter in that sense, they both used the ball well, they were tricky, they took people on and they created and scored goals. For fans of a certain age, Baxter was their hero.

With Coop, he is someone that older fans and younger fans remember and know all about. It would be fitting his name would be involved at the training ground and I think Coop should certainly come to the fore.
