ANDY MURRAY will play fellow Brit Liam Broady in the first round of the men's singles at Wimbledon after the draw was made today.

The Scot has been seeded second for the Championships, which get underway on Monday June 27, and will begin his bid for a second title against the world number 234 from Stockport.

The 22-year-old Broady had been handed a wildcard to enter this year's tournament and was a runner-up at Wimbledon as a junior in 2011.

Murray won Queen's for a record fifth time in the buildup to SW19, but has been beaten by Novak Djokovic in the final of this year's two Grand Slam events so far, the Australian and French Opens.

The Serbian world number one will begin his championship defence against Brit James Ward, who achieved a personal best last year by reaching the third round.

Ward was also part of Britain's triumphant Davis Cup team last year, recording a memorable five-set win over John Isner of the USA in Glasgow.

Murray's side of the draw puts him on course for a round of 16 match against Australian Nick Kyrgios, quarter-final with Frenchman Richard Gasquet and semi-final contest with fourth seed Stan Wawrinka.
