MATT GILKS has set his sights on the Rangers number one jersey as he attempts to oust first choice keeper Wes Foderingham.
The 34-year-old completed his move to Ibrox last week as he became the seventh addition of the summer for boss Mark Warburton.
And Gilks has no intention of just making up the numbers as he looks to force his way into the Gers’ starting line-up this term.
He told RangersTV: “Wes was fantastic last season. Rangers, the size of club it is, it’s probably one of those clubs you always look out for whether you support them or you don’t. You’re just interested in how they are doing.
“I know Wes had a fantastic season and obviously I want to play. I’m going to push, but if I can push Wes and if it improves Wes for this team, I’m doing my job as well.
“We’ll have to wait and see what happens on that front.”
