Australia international Aaron Mooy has signed a three-year deal with Premier League giants Manchester City, four years after being released by St Mirren. 

The midfielder played for the Paisley club for two seasons between 2010 and 2012, but struggled to break into the first team at St Mirren Park.

Mooy agreed a termination of his deal with the Buddies in June 2012 after making only eight league appearances in the 2011/12 season, before returning to his home country to join A-League club West Sydney.

The 25-year-old has since enjoyed an upturn in fortunes and was named  as Melbourne's Player of the Year in 2014 following a record 21-assist A-League haul.Glasgow Times:

The English Premier League giants, who are Melbourne's sister club, today snapped up Mooy on a three-year contract after a season in which he provided 10 assists and 11 goals for Melbourne City.
