KENNY MILLER had no qualms about going to congratulate Hibernian in the aftermath of Rangers’ Scottish Cup defeat at Hampden.

The striker pulled Mark Warburton’s side level before Andy Halliday put the Light Blues within touching distance of a unique Treble.

But the dream turned into a nightmare for Rangers as Alan Stubbs’ side scored twice in the final minutes to snatch the silverware and end their wait for major cup success.

Miller went into the Hibs dressing room once the players had made their way off the park to congratulate his friends as they savoured the moment.

He said: “Look, I know Alan well, I played with him and he did a fantastic job at Hibs and is going to be a huge loss to the Scottish game - he’s a really talented young manager and our game’s going to miss him. His staff are very, very good as well.

“I know a few lads in that team - I went along to see big Daz (Darren McGregor). As much as I was really, really disappointed I was delighted for him.

“He was a great lad at this club, did a really good job for us over that year and for one reason or another he had to move on and got a great move back to the club he supported as a boy.

“As much as I was bitterly disappointed, in the aftermath of everything that happened we never got a chance to shake the hands with their lads after the game.

“I was going along to wish them the best and, to be fair, all of them were brand new and came straight up and as much as I went along there to make the gesture - they were all jumping around celebrating at the time - but they were quite hospitable when I went in there.”
