HIBERNIAN have announced that four players have been released at the end of their contracts, including Scottish Cup semi-final hero Conrad Logan.

Veteran midfielder Kevin Thomson, injury-prone striker Farid El Alagui and journeyman forward Chris Dagnall have also left the Edinburgh club.

Goalkeeper Logan rose to prominence after a sensational debut performance in last season's Cup semi-final against Dundee United, when he made a string of crucial stops in open play and the decisive penalty shootout.

However, the Irishman's memorable saves weren't enough to earn him a new deal at Easter Road and he departs after making eight appearances for the club.

Thomson joined the Hibees for the third time in his career in January and the 31-year-old's latest spell has ended only six months later following a struggle to break into the team.

El Alagui arrived in 2014 and scored seven goals under Alan Stubbs before repeated injury problems stalled his progress, while Dagnall has failed to find the net since he signed from Kerala Blasters in January.

The club also confirmed that Niklas Gunnarsson's loan from Norwegian side Valerenga has ended, as have the temporary deals for Celtic's Liam Henderson and Anthony Stokes.

"All the players leave Hibernian with the best wishes of everyone at the Club for their valued contributions and services during their spells at Easter Road Stadium," read a statement on the club website.
