JOE DODOO turned down the chance to stay with Premier League champions Leicester City to make the move to Rangers.

The striker completed his switch north of the border on Tuesday afternoon as he put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with the Light Blues.

Dodoo becomes the ninth arrival of the summer at Ibrox and adds further strength and depth to Mark Warburton’s squad ahead of the Gers’ shot at the Premiership title this term.

The 21-year-old played four times for the Foxes last season before impressing during a loan stint at League One outfit Bury.

And he has no regrets about quitting the King Power Stadium just weeks after Claudio Ranieri’s side made history by lifting the English top flight crown.

Dodoo told rangers.co.uk: “Of course I had other options but sometimes you have to make a decision on what club is best for you and I felt like the manager was the right one for me.

“I was tempted to stay at Leicester and that was a possibility but you have to make the right decision based on what is going on and I felt this was the right place for me to come right now.

“It felt like the right place to prove and the manager will nurture me and make me the player I want to be.

“The football is right, they play good football and that suits me.

“That is how I play, it’s nice because they like to pass the ball and work out from the back and for me that is good.

“That creates a lot of chances and as a striker I am going to get a lot of chances in the game.

“It is a great club with a lot of old values about it and great football. I have always watched the way they play and the way they are evolving now which is great.

“There is a new manager, they are back amongst the big time and are looking to strive for it.”
