MARK WARBURTON has done a lot of good business so far this summer and the fans are right to be pleased with how Rangers are looking at this stage of the season.

But we have to remember that Celtic are the champions, they had the best squad last year and they will undoubtedly add to what they have got before the end of the window.

They have got a good group of players and you don’t become a bad team or a bad player overnight. They will get a couple in and Celtic will be strong.

Celtic know they have got a fight on this season because Aberdeen and Hearts will be stronger and Rangers have certainly improved a lot already.

Brendan Rodgers will know he has to bring in a couple of quality players and it wouldn’t surprise me if he spent two or three million to strengthen his squad before the start of the league season.

Maybe some Rangers fans are getting a bit carried away having seen nine players arrive at Ibrox and the team get off to a decent start in the games they have played so far.

Celtic will still be the favourites and Mark and the players still have a lot of work to do if they are to win the title in the coming months.

Rangers will certainly challenge this year. You can’t say that they will definitely win it.

There are good players at Rangers but we are going against the champions that have set their sights on winning a sixth successive Premiership.

For five years, it has been a one-horse race but it won’t be that way this season, that is for sure.

There is going to be a real title race this season and that is why there is an excitement about Scottish football again going into the new campaign.

With the business Rangers have done so far, they have shown that they are determined to put in a really strong challenge and have a run at it.

Rangers still have to prove that they have what it takes and the players have to perform in the Premiership. There is no reason why they can’t take the fight right to the end, though.
