THE saga over Rangers’ merchandise deals and the new kit continues to rumble on and the fans are once again caught in the middle here.

It is understandable that they want to go out and buy the strips and other merchandise but many have chosen not to and you can see why.

You can’t tell people not to buy the kit and speak for every fan. They want to have the shirt or buy it for their kids, and I accept that.

But Rangers, after everything they have been through in the last few years, aren’t making a lot of money from their retail streams. Other people are, though.

The club didn’t want the shirts to go on sale this week and the fact that they are has clearly irked the board and upset many supporters. I think the majority of fans will still continue their boycott.

Until the club come out and say that it is OK to buy strips and other merchandise then I think most will refuse to hand over their cash.

It is a very complex situation and it is a huge problem that Dave King and the board have inherited from the people that were at Ibrox before.

It is a mess that has to be sorted, though, and the fans will just have to be patient until a solution that benefits the club is found.

This could well see Rangers back in court once again and the board will continue to stick up for the club and do what they think is best for the club. They are right to do that.

The board have been proactive in addressing a number of problems they have come across since last March and they have shown that they are not going to take any nonsense from anyone.

If it means going to Court then I am sure they will do that and I think the majority of Rangers fans will back them all the way.
