HARRY FORRESTER insists he will learn ‘to tone it down a bit’ after finding himself at the centre of the action at Dens Park on Saturday.

The midfielder helped Rangers on their way to a 2-1 win over Dundee as he opened the scoring against Paul Hartley’s side before a Kenny Miller strike clinched the win for the Gers.

But the home crowd were furious Forrester didn’t pick up a second yellow card for challenges on Cammy Kerr and Michael Duffy before boss Mark Warburton withdrew him from the action in the second half.

The 25-year-old was handed his first league start of the new campaign against the Dees and was determined to impress in the face of significant competition for places in the Light Blues squad.

Forrester said: “Of course it was good to get the goal. This is a tough place to come.

“We started very well in the first half, moving the ball well and the second half wasn’t as good as we would have liked. But it is about the three points and we move on.

“There was one in the corner that everyone was shouting about but the momentum of the cross actually took me in to the player.

“The last one in the corner, it is what it is and the manager subbed me. That is just the commitment from my side and I will learn when to tone it down a bit.

"We brought in good players in the summer so it is going to be about getting game time for the whole squad.

“We have got a great squad. Jordan (Rossiter) has come in and done very well, Niko (Kranjcar) has come in and done very well. So it is about using the squad and getting as many minutes as possible."
