LEWIS MACLEOD is confident Rangers will go from strength to strength under the guidance of Mark Warburton and David Weir this season.
The former Light Blues midfielder moved to Brentford in January 2014 but never got the chance to play for the then Bees management team due to injury.
Just months later, Warburton and Weir made the switch north of the border and went on to lead Rangers to the Championship title and Petrofac Training Cup in their first campaign at Ibrox.
And the 22-year-old is pleased to see Rangers back on the right track as Warburton sets his sights on the Premiership title this term.
Macleod said: “I’m not surprised at all. I think everybody has seen the tremendous job that he has done since he has moved up to Scotland.
“It’s been refreshing. It has been great to see. The team never made the start they wanted to the Premiership last weekend, but it’s a long season.
“I still speak to quite a lot of people at the club now and again and look to see how they have done.
“It is fantastic to see Rangers back in the top flight. I was probably playing for them in the first team through quite a hard period.
“I’m sure everybody who was involved would say the same thing. So it is good to see them back in the Premiership.
“Hopefully they will do well. More than anything, it is great for the fans. It is what they have been waiting for.
“When I came down here I said I was looking forward to working with Mark and Davie. That wasn’t to be.
“We have had a couple of managers since then. But I am just looking to get game time and play in the team.
“That’s the main focus for me, just to get some games under my belt. For the last 18 months I have basically just been sitting doing very little.”
