Martin Canning has revealed that former Partick Thistle centre-half Dan Seaborne will sign for Hamilton.

Seaborne left Firhill in the summer and had been in India, where he was unveiled as a new signing by Indian Premier League Club Mohun Bagan.

The defender performed a U-turn though just before officially registering himself with the Indian Football Association, and it had been reported that he was set for a trial with Greek giants Olympiacos.

According to Canning though he will now turn out for Accies this season after seeking a move back to the UK.

The Hamilton boss has also sealed the signing of former Hartlepool striker Rakish Bingham, and is awaiting clearance before deciding if either player will be involved against Dundee tonight.

“That’s a centre-back and a striker, and if we can get everything over the line that’s two good signings who will add experience,” Canning said.

“Dan Seaborne knows the league and along with Mikey Devlin and Georgios Sarris that gives me three good centre-backs.

“I got a phone-call about 10 days ago telling me that there was potentially a chance to get Dan in, so I spoke to the club and they’ve been great in backing me.

“He went to India and didn’t like it and he’s come back and is available, which is good for us.

“He’s a good talker, he’s an experienced guy and he knows the league well.

“Rakish has done well, he’s been in for the past week and trained really well and played really well in a game.

“He’s quick and strong, and is similar to Carlton Morris in that he’s athletic and has mobility.

“I’m waiting to see if the paperwork will be processed in time for tomorrow night, so I’ll wait and see if they are ready to be involved."

Canning takes his men to Dens Park tonight looking to atone for last week’s defeat to Kilmarnock.

He doesn’t think the loss of Dundee’s main attacking threats will aid their cause too much though.

“You’ve got to prove you can survive without them and I’m sure Paul will be saying to the players up there to go and prove they’re not a two-man team,” he said.

“Obviously you will miss that amount of goals from your team, but I’m pretty sure there are guys there who are desperate to fill those boots.

“We’ve got to make sure we’re focused and ready to do our own job.”
