KILMARNOCK boss Lee Clark is hoping to complete his second signing of the day after lining up Birmingham midfielder Charlee Adams on a loan deal till January.
The Rugby Park manager has already tied up a similar move for Burnley right-back Luke Hendrie.
Now he hopes to have both men in his squad for Saturday's trip to Ross County.
Clark handed 21-year-old Adams his first-team debut during his stint as Blues boss and was delighted he was able to overcome rival offers.
He said: "I know Charlee very well. I gave him his debut and he's gone on to play more games under Gary Rowett.
"He's had a couple of loan moves at Lincoln already and we've fought off some late competition to get him from clubs in League One down south, so we're very happy with that.
"He's a very dynamic, aggressive midfield player who can also play centre-half.
"When I got the nod yesterday that he was available, I was surprised but thankfully we moved very quickly to get him."
Former England youth international Hendrie has previously had loan stints with Hartlepool and Jackie McNamara's York.
The 21-year-old made 18 appearances for the Minstermen but could not prevent them finishing bottom of Sky Bet League Two.
But having asked midfielder Greg Taylor to fill in at full-back so far this season, Clark hopes Hendrie can now provide his side with some defensive expertise
"Luke is an out-and-out right-back," he said. "We felt that with Greg Taylor being a young player, it would be hard enough coming into the first team without having to play a different position that he does normally.
"He's done a sterling job but we felt we needed a specialist in there.
"Luke has had periods out on loan at York and at Hartlepool. He comes from good stock, I know his father (former Newcastle and Middlesbrough winger John Hendrie) very well.
"We think he can give us something a bit different."
Clark is now on the verge of making 14 additions to his squad this summer - eight of them loan signings. His latest deals were made possible by the sale of Josh Magennis to Charlton and he still has plans to bring in at least one more new face.
However, that means some of his fringe players will be allowed to head out on loan themselves.
He added: "We need to trim the size of the squad back but sending them out on loan means these players will be playing competitive football and ready to come back in January."
