MARK WARBURTON is delighted Barrie McKay’s fine form for Rangers has been rewarded with another call-up to the Scotland squad.
The winger made his debut against France in June and will join up with Gordon Strachan’s side for the World Cup qualifier with Malta next month.
Boss Warburton said: “Barrie’s done tremendously well and he got his reward last season. His level of consistency was outstanding, the quality of goal that he scored and his contribution in terms of assists.
“Barrie is 21-years-old and he’s going to keep getting better and better. Davie and I, and the staff, have no doubts about how good he can be, it’s making sure Barrie knows how good he can be.
“It takes hard work, application, desire, hunger to be better. There are a lot of players out there with ability but it’s not just ability, it’s the approach to maximise the attributes you have.”
