Rangers have some formidable fixtures approaching, including a visit to Pittodrie, but Mark Warburton insists that his only focus is on the Ross County game at Ibrox this Saturday.

The Ibrox boss says that nobody at the club is underestimating the size of the task to take three points from Jim McIntyre’s men on their maiden visit to the stadium.

“The only focus has to be Ross County,” he said. “One game at a time, it has to be.

“There is no lack of focus, we know exactly what is expected.

“They’ll come here, their first ever time at Ibrox and I’m sure they are looking forward to the stadium and the crowd.

“They are well-organised and they have a great work ethic in the team, superbly managed by Jim.

“So it’s a tough test. Forget Tuesday, Tuesday doesn’t matter until we get Saturday out of the way and then Aberdeen doesn’t matter until after the League cup game.

“We want to win that game, go into the semi-final draw, then focus on Pittodrie.

“There’s no point in us looking at Hearts or Inverness if we lose games in-between, and I always say that. The only focus is Saturday.”

Despite the obvious disappointment in the Rangers camp coming off the back of Saturday’s result at Celtic Park, Warburton maintains that the mood has been upbeat in training this week in the lead-up to the game.

He is happy to be welcoming a few players back into the reckoning following spells in the treatment room, although Rob Kiernan is unlikely to feature.

The return of Danny Wilson and the improving fitness of Clint Hill will give the Rangers manager some options in the centre of his defence though.

“It’s been good [this week] in terms of training,” he said.

“We’ve welcomed back Matt Crooks and Jason Holt is back in full training.

“Rob Kiernan I don’t think will be ready for the weekend - I think Saturday will be a day too early for him - and obviously Philippe [Senderos] is suspended.

“But Danny Wilson is more than ready as is Clint Hill and everyone else is fit.”
