MARTYN WAGHORN got a hat-trick against Queen of the South on Tuesday night and he will surely start at Pittodrie this weekend. But, where does he fit in for Mark Warburton?

Joe Garner started against Celtic and Ross County through the middle. Martyn was played wider on the right at the weekend but he was very good as the central striker at Ibrox in midweek.

I think he has to start and the manager then has a decision to make over who plays wider. If things aren’t going well, he has the likes of Garner to come on.

The first call is whether to go with Barrie McKay or Michael O’Halloran. You need players that are adaptable and you need to be comfortable across the front three if you are to fit into the system that Mark plays.

I thought O’Halloran did very well on Tuesday night and you saw a reaction from McKay when he came on.

He realises he has to raise his game or he could find himself out of the team. He looked the part, he was taking on men and he got a couple of assists. He will have got a lift from that.

If I was to choose now, I would go with O’Halloran. It hasn’t been a great start to the season for McKay, even though he did play well when he came on against Queens.

On the other side, I think Harry Forrester has to play. He is such an enthusiastic player and he loves to get on the ball and to take defenders on.

He will have to watch himself because he does fly into challenges at times. But he is not a dirty player and he certainly gets kicked more than he kicks other people.

He does have to watch himself, though. He is one of the few wingers that like to tackle.

I would have him in the team and allow him to run at players and to operate across the front three. He can really cause teams problems.
