MARK WARBURTON hopes midfielder Jordan Rossiter will be available for selection again in a couple of weeks as he recovers from a calf strain.

The former Liverpool kid has not played since the 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock last month and will miss the visit of Partick Thistle on Saturday.

Boss Warburton was also without the services of Josh Windass and Matt Crooks for the trip to Pittodrie at the weekend as the Gers slipped to seventh in the Premiership standings.

And he is keen to have all three midfield stars back in action sooner rather than later as the Light Blues bid to climb the top flight table.

Warburton told rangers.co.uk: “Jordan has a calf strain, he went away with England with a niggle and it got worse in training on international duty.

“Jordan is a superb professional and is desperate to play every game and it is a low grade strain but at the moment it is proving troublesome. Hopefully he is a couple of weeks away.

“Josh Windass had more a neural (nerve) problem rather than a muscle problem so fingers crossed he will make good progress this week and be available for selection.

“Matt Crooks has some slight effusion on the knee (water on the knee) but he has trained well at the start of the week and looks in good shape.

“Matt is very keen now, he needs to get some match time and the worst thing we could do is try and hurry back a young player.”
