BARRIE MCKAY hopes his latest Scotland call-up is a sign of things to come as he looks to establish himself at international level.
The Rangers winger has been named in Gordon Strachan’s squad for the World Cup qualifier with Lithuania at Hampden next weekend.
McKay has been a key part of the Light Blues side in the opening weeks of the Premiership campaign and he told rangers.co.uk: “It’s another great achievement, and it’s up to me to try to stay in the squads, and hopefully eventually get playing in them.
“It’s a great bunch of boys, and there a few younger boys like John McGinn – and he’s one that I’ve been sharing a room with. Having the likes of him there helps break yourself into it.
“Unfortunately I didn’t get on in Malta, but it was still a good experience to go away and play, and it’s great to be around top quality players.”
