KENNY MILLER insists Rangers will head into the second Old Firm clash of the campaign ‘full of confidence’ after back-to-back Premiership wins.

Mark Warburton’s side have shown promising signs in recent weeks as they bid to recover from a poor start to the season that has left them well off the title pace.

Miller was the hero in the Highlands on Friday night as he scored his 100th goal for the Gers and clinched a valuable three points against Inverness Caley Thistle.

And the striker is pleased with the progress that has been made at Ibrox as Warburton’s side prepare for another showdown with Celtic.

Miller said: “I felt we hit decent heights during the first half against Dundee and it was a similar game [on Friday night].

“It's always great when you can win games when you're not at your best but you saw in spells the threat we've got.

“It could have been more comfortable and probably should have been.

“We might not have had too many chances but I felt we got into some incredible positions where an extra wee pass would have given somebody a tap-in.

“It's that final decision which wasn't there but when that comes good, somebody will be on the end of hiding.

“But in the end we've come away from a tough place with three points. I've never had an easy game up here, I've never had a runaway victory, so it's great to get back down the road with the win.

“You never want to go into a game like next week off the back of a poor result so it's good to come up here and win.

“That momentum has been building over the last four or five games, so we will definitely go into next week full of confidence.”

Rangers crashed to a 5-1 defeat at Parkhead last month as Brendan Rodgers’ side laid down a marker of their title intentions.

But Miller insists the Light Blues won’t be thinking about Old Firm revenge as they bid for a repeat of their Scottish Cup semi success last season.

He said: “To go in to any game with that type of mentality is wrong. We know if we go into that game and play the way we play, we can hurt Celtic – there is no doubt about that.

“We have shown that in the past and shown in spells over the course of the season that if we play the way we can play, we can cause them problems.

“Will it be enough to win the game? Only time will tell – anything can happen in any game of football, but we will train well and prepare very well this week and we are going into it with a little bit of momentum. We are in a better place.”
