Shrewsbury Town made an official approach to Partick Thistle yesterday to discuss their vacant managerial position with Jags boss Alan Archibald.
The English League One side held interviews yesterday with prospective candidates, but Archibald was not among them.
Shrewsbury have been without a manager since Micky Mellon left the club two weeks ago, and chief executive Brian Caldwell, formerly of St Mirren, has stated he wants to make an appointment for this weekend's clash with Northampton.
While SportTimes understands that Thistle would not stand in Archibald's way if he wished to hold talks with Shrewsbury, the 38-year-old has not yet done so.
