Brendan Rodgers and his team are right in the middle of a key part of their season.

In the last few days they have already navigated their way to the Betfred Cup final as well as extend their lead at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership to seven points.

Next is a tricky trip to Pittodrie where that gap can be stretched out to 10 before a jaunt to Germany for their Champions League group game with Borussia Monchengladbach appears on the horizon.

Aberdeen will be no mugs. They ran them close last season and it will be a tough and physical test for Brendan's team.

Taking a positive result will naturally help confidence ahead of European Match Day No.4, but Celtic will already be sure of what needs to be done at Borussia Park to rectify what occurred at Celtic Park last Wednesday.

It will be a totally different approach as they were poor against the Bundesliga side, particularly in midfield. I think they know that.

Regardless of the result on Saturday, they must be aware that they have to play better than they did at Celtic Park if they are to keep their hopes of staying in Europe beyond Christmas alive.

They were outplayed, outmanoeuvred, outfought and outcommanded in the centre of the park. They dictated the play.

Celtic weren't on top of their game and that's where the disappointment will lie, Brendan Rodgers and the players will know they can play so much better.

On Tuesday night I believe Celtic will be far improved from what we saw on Match Day No.3, and if they manage transfer the belief and confidence in their domestic form, some sort of positive result is not beyond them.
