LAST season Celtic fans were rightly jubilant and full of praise of Leigh Griffiths as he breached the 40-goal mark in green and white hoops.

After just 21 appearances, Moussa Dembele sits on 15 after another eventful week for the French forward.

The 20-year-old bagged the winner against Rangers at Hampden on Sunday then turned in a close range effort on Wednesday night in Dingwall as a scout from Manchester United watched on.

I think it’s premature to talk about him leaving.

This boy had the chance to go elsewhere when he was considering leaving Fulham but decided to come up to Celtic. He’s doing well for them and is now the No.1 striker here.

He’s also going great guns for the French U21 squad and through time you could very well see him play a part in the full squad.

I don’t think he’s even considering leaving in the transfer window or any time soon. He is scoring goals and looks as if he is loving life in Glasgow.

Of course, if you keep on scoring goals and playing as he has been then you are going to attract attention and potential suitors will start to queue up.

But the other thing to consider is Celtic don’t need the money. There is a time where everyone has a price. Now is not that time.

A lot of the speculation is coming because of his performances. You can’t stop big teams watching him.

It’s far too early for that for the lad. He just needs to keep progressing the way he has been and, if he continues to hit the back of the net, who knows what speculation may whip up or who will come and see him.
