FODERINGHAM (6) Was helpless to prevent Ross County from netting their equaliser at a corner midway through the first half. Had to be sharp to prevent the home team from scoring a winner with a late onslaught. Did well to scoop a swerving Alex Schalk shot over his crossbar in injury-time.

WALLACE (6) Led by example. Got upfield as often as play allowed him to, but was unable to create the opening or net the goal which edged his side back in front. Nearly cost his side a goal when he gifted County possession needlessly in injury-time. But he was not the only Rangers defender guilty of that.

HILL (6) The centre half took his early goal well when he got on the end of a Josh Windass corner and headed beyond Scott Fox. Was held back by Jay McEveley at the equaliser. Stuck to his task well for the full 90 minutes and made some crucial interventions at the end as County finished strongly.

KIERNAN (6) Another who gave the ball away carelessly. But the defender is only following his manager’s instructions. Perhaps a change of approach in awkward away games like this one would be beneficial to both him and his side.

TAVERNIER (6) Passed up a gilt-edged chance to snatch a late winner after being set up by Barrie McKay in the County penalty box late on. Couldn’t be faulted for effort. Carried out his defensive tasks well.

HALLIDAY (6) The midfielder, like so many of the Rangers players, was the victim of some blatant fouls by home team. Was brought down as his team broke forward in the first half. Battled valiantly despite the rough treatment he was subjected to.

HOLT (6) Was denied a penalty by referee Andrew Dallas in the second half after going down in the County penalty box following a challenge by Marcus Fraser. Was booked for diving by the match official. Was his usual industrious self.

WINDASS (7) Another bright showing from the Englishman. Created his side’s goal with a decent delivery to Hill. Was unlucky not to either net or set up a second when Rangers were on top after that. Was scythed down on numerous occasions as he burst upfield in the second half.

O’HALLORAN (6) Showed no shortage of effort after being given another start by his manager Mark Warburton, but he was unable to get the better of the County defence. Is he a better option than McKay?

MILLER (6) Saw his long-range shot saved by Scott Fox when Rangers were dominating play during the first-half. Made way for Martyn Waghorn in the second half.

GARNER (6) Shot straight at Fox after being set up by Halliday. A physical presence, he made the opposition defence’s life as difficult as possible.

Replacements

MCKAY (4) Set up Tavernier for a late effort.

WAGHORN (3) Unable to make a difference.

DODOO (2) Hardly involved.
