HARRY FORRESTER is determined to force his way back into the Rangers starting line-up after a frustrating start to the campaign at Ibrox.

The midfielder has made 14 appearances for Mark Warburton’s side this term and scored in the Premiership clashes with Dundee and Motherwell.

With Joey Barton no longer on the Light Blues’ books and Niko Kranjcar and Jordan Rossiter ruled out through injury, boss Warburton is short of central options at present.

That could open the door for Forrester to come back into the side when Dundee make the trip to Ibrox this weekend.

And the 25-year-old hopes he can become an integral part of Warburton’s plans once again as he looks to inspire the Gers to an improved Premiership run.

“It is like every week, everybody wants to play, there is competition for places but there is maybe an extra incentive for me to try and force my way back into the team,” he told RangersTV.

“I am never happy being on the bench or even out of the squad but it is part of football and you find yourself in these situations.

“But Dundee are coming on Saturday and hopefully I will be involved and I can put on a performance.

“It has been very frustrating, for a footballer to not be playing on a Saturday takes all the excitement away and to get yourself up for training.

“But this is part of the job and when you’re at a club like Rangers that is going to happen and it is up to me to try and find a way of getting back into the team.

“I have to deal with disappointment and I have learnt that over the years and at a club like Rangers you’ll be tested for your position.

“You find yourself in these positions and it is up to me as a professional to deal with that.”
