WES FODERINGHAM: Nothing to do for opening 25 minutes and then called upon to make a decent save from a Tom Hateley free kick. Similar story after the break, Foderingham making an excellent fingertip stop to push over another Hateley dead ball strike. 7

JAMES TAVERNIER: Seen mostly in an attacking sense given how little Dundee attacked down their left. Second-half drilled shot blocked by defenders. 6

CLINT HILL: A few uncomfortable moments dealing with Marcus Haber but not put under a great deal of pressure beyond that. 6

ROB KIERNAN: Solid at the back and effective with distribution. 6

LEE WALLACE: A regular threat down Rangers’ left, always looking to connect with Kenny Miller. 6

ANDY HALLIDAY: Deepest of central trio offering an extra shield in front of the defence although slack back pass almost cut out by Craig Wighton late in the first half. Booked midway through the second half for cynical foul on same player. 6

JASON HOLT: Useful link man in midfield, always available to keep play ticking over. Made terrific last-gasp clearance to deny James Vincent a second-half tap-in then saw Scott Bain dive full length to keep out his goalbound effort. 7

JOSH WINDASS: Probably Rangers’ best player – in the first half certainly – and very lively in the middle of the park. Fans booed when he was removed with 65 minutes gone. 7

MICHAEL O’HALLORAN: Flitted in and out of the game but pace always offered Rangers an option wide on the right. Trip on the winger by Kevin Holt earned the Dundee man the first booking of the match. 6

JOE GARNER: Had Rangers’ first chance of the game but couldn’t finish after making a fine turn, before a chipped effort drifted just over. Plenty of industry but needs goals. 6

KENNY MILLER: Stationed wide on the left and always keen to get involved. Second-half header narrowly off target. 7

Subs:

BARRIE MCKAY (for Windass 65): Gave Rangers energy boost when they were flagging. 6

JOE DODOO (for O’Halloran 71): Supplied the cross for the winning goal. 6

HARRY FORRESTER (for Miller 77): Match winner with injury-time headed goal. 6
