LEE WALLACE insists Robbie Neilson’s imminent departure from Hearts will have no bearing on their Premiership clash with Rangers.

The Light Blues head to Tynecastle tonight with a chance to move six points clear of the Jambos in the table and for what looks like it will be Neilson’s farewell to the Gorgie faithful.

The 36-year-old is on the brink of becoming the new boss of League One outfit MK Dons after holding talks with Chairman Pete Winkleman on Tuesday.

Neilson will be in the dugout for the eagerly-anticipated Gers fixture and Wallace has backed his former team-mate to make the most of his move south of the border.

He said: “It is Robbie’s decision and the club’s decision as to why they have allowed him to go and speak to MK Dons.

“He’ll be an ambitious manager because he was an ambitious player.

“Robbie was fortunate enough to play both north and south of the border.

“Now he might have the opportunity to do that as a manager and MK Dons are now in a position where they are trying to rebuild and move forward.

“Robbie would be the man for that because he’s well skilled in that from the short period of time he’s been in charge of Hearts. If he goes, he’ll do really well.

“I don’t think it matters to us what’s going on. There are going to be 11 or 14 players going against us and I don’t think it will make any difference to how Hearts perform.

“They will be stuffy and make it as awkward for us as possible.

“I don’t think anything to do with Robbie or managers will disrupt their preparations or how they’ll play on the night.”
