MARK WARBURTON insists his selection dilemmas are a welcome puzzle to solve as Rangers look to continue their Premiership winning run.

Striker Martyn Waghorn staked his claim for a starting spot as he returned to the side and scored both goals in Friday’s win over Hamilton.

It was another deserved victory for the Gers as they followed up the home triumphs over Aberdeen and Hearts.

Boss Warburton said: “For us to turn round and have people like Matt Gilks, Philippe Senderos, Clint Hill, Michael O’Halloran, Joe Dodoo, Kenny Miller, who has been outstanding, on the bench and to have that quality right the way from front to back is very pleasing.

“It was just Harry (Forrester) that came on. Waggy got 75 minutes, we hope that was the right call.

“The squad is strong and it was a really pleasing performance.

“It is not a headache. The players know that we trust every player.

“We have absolute belief in the players and they have got to know that.

“You can’t have a squad of 21, 22 players and only rely on 12, 13, 14. If you don’t trust the players they shouldn’t be in your squad.

“To turn round and have Joe Dodoo, Michael O’Halloran, Harry Forrester and Kenny Miller who can all come on for Waggy, it is great to have that strength in depth.”

Rangers return to action when they face Inverness on Christmas Eve as they bid to make it four-in-a-row in the Premiership.

The Light Blues also face St Johnstone and Celtic before the turn of the year but Warburton won’t look any further than the Caley clash.

He told RangersTV: “Again, it’s one game at a time. People say to me 'you can now enjoy Inverness' – no.

“They are a very, very good team and are very well-managed. We know they have the strength in depth and we have to compete and make sure we deliver a level of performance.

“It’s the next three points, and that’s what we have to do. Grind them down one at a time and forget St Johnstone, forget Celtic – they don’t matter yet. Right now, everything is on Inverness.”
