GORDON (6): Little to do but well wrapped up against the vagaries of playing on a plastic surface. One save in the opening minute of the game but other than that was a virtual spectator for the bulk of the 90 minutes.

GAMBOA (7): In to play on the right as Lustig started in central defence. Tried to get forward in support and not much to do defensively. One impressive turn in the second period in which he moved from retrieving the ball to launching an attack.

LUSTIG (7): Moved inside to cover form the suspended Erik Sviatchenko and did not have too much to trouble him. Was replaced at the break by Simunovic.

BOYATA (6): Rare start for the defender and to be fair to him, despite his limited exposure to first-team duties this season he looked comfortable given Celtic’s dominancy of the tie.

TIERNEY (7): Straight back into the starting line-up following a three-month hiatus with an ankle injury. Good footwork on the left-hand flank to set Sinclair up for the opening goal of the game. Replaced by Callum McGregor as he tired in the second period.

FORREST (6): Frustrated Brendan Rodgers with one glancing header from a KT cross that he hit well wide of the mark. Ought to have sealed the tie with the second goal after the restart but couldn’t get the breakthrough.

BITTON (6): One long-range effort in the opening half that went just over the bar as Celtic looked to open up a busy Albion Rovers defence.

BROWN (7): Usual exertions and effort. Put in a shift in the middle of the park and kept Celtic pushing forward.

ARMSTRONG (7): Landed awkwardly in the opening stages of the game but seemed to shake it off. Tried his luck with a decent effort from the edge of the box that was tipped over the bar but netted the third of the afternoon for Celtic.

SINCLAIR (8): Cracking strike to break the deadlock. Effort looked to be sailing well wide of the mark before dropping spectacularly into top right-hand corner to net his 13th goal of the season.

DEMBELE (7): Not his best performance in a Celtic shirt and not as clinical as he has been. Had one effort beaten away at the near post before getting his name on the scoresheet when he netted the second of the day.

SIMUNOVIC (6): On for Lustig at the break and had a shot cleared off the line.

MCGREGOR (6): Took over from Tierney and spent most of his afternoon pushing forward.

ROBERTS (5): On for Forrest for the latter stages and set up two goals. Could well have put himself in line for a start against St Johnstone on Wednesday night.
