Inverness manager Richie Foran has welcomed the break from fighting relegation as he told his players to relish a pressure-free trip to Celtic Park.

Celtic are huge favourites to take their unbeaten domestic run this season to 30 matches when they host a William Hill Scottish Cup fifth-round tie against Caley Thistle.

The Ladbrokes Premiership bottom club are the only Scottish team to deny the champions victory this season, drawing 2-2 in September, but Foran's team have only won once in 14 games, a 2-1 victory at Elgin in the fourth round.

However, Foran feels a trip to Parkhead could be exactly what they need.

"We go there with no pressure - probably the only Premiership team without pressure," he said.

"Celtic are through in most people's minds. You're away from the stresses of the league campaign and the boys are looking forward to it.

"Given where we are in the league, it could be draining for some players. Some it will affect, some it won't. I had a go publicly last week and got the response I was after. You've got to keep that mindset positive and your breaks will come.

"There's pressure on us in every league game but nothing is expected at Parkhead.

"You go play the Old Firm and that's maybe the welcome break we need, gets us the win we need playing with no pressure on our shoulders. Celtic are playing with extra pressure on their shoulders going for the treble."

Meanwhile, Foran confirmed he had made an offer to defender Louis Laing, who left Motherwell just before the transfer deadline.

Foran is looking for defensive cover with Josh Meekings facing two months out following knee surgery.

"We spoke to him and we're waiting to hear back," Foran said. "It would be to the end of the season and he has a couple of options, once he hears back then we'll know.

"He'd be a good one to bring in as we've got a couple of suspensions coming up."
