MYLES BEERMAN hopes he has done enough to earn an Old Firm bow after helping Rangers warm-up for derby day with a crucial Premiership win on Saturday.

The left-back made his third appearance for Pedro Caixinha’s side against Partick Thistle and turned in another impressive performance at Ibrox.

The Light Blues have recorded three clean sheets against Kilmarnock, Aberdeen and the Jags since Beerman and fellow Auchenhowie kid David Bates have stepped into the back four.

Rangers head to Hampden determined to record their first derby win of the campaign against Celtic and to move within 90 minutes of Scottish Cup glory.

But Beerman is confident he can rise the Old Form occasion if he is given the nod to start on Sunday.

“All we can do is prepare as best we can. It’s one of the biggest games of the season.

“I have watched them quite a lot this season. They are good players but they are human beings. I have got to analyse them and then try to perform my best.

“Part of football is the motivation to do well against good players. That is what I love and that is what keeps me going.

“It’s an Old Firm game and I know for a fact we will be up for it.”
