WITH several Celtic talents plying their trade across British football this season, we take a look at how they fared over the weekend.

Scottish Premiership

Kristoffer Ajer (Kilmarnock)

The Norwegian was restored to Lee McCulloch’s defence after missing last weekend’s defeat to Celtic and helped Killie keep a clean sheet during their 0-0 draw against Hearts on Friday.

There were claims from Jambos players for a penalty in the first half when the 19-year-old brought down Arnaud Djoum with a challenge, but they were waved away by referee Euan Anderson.

Ryan Christie (Aberdeen)

After failing to feature against Rangers last week, Christie played a starring role in the Dons’ 2-1 win over St Johnstone as he started in the place of the injured Niall McGinn.

The midfielder scored a superb opener after cutting between two defenders and powering a shot past Allan Mannus, helping the Pittodrie side to a win that maintained their nine-point lead in second place.

Scottish Championship

Efe Ambrose (Hibernian)

The newly-crowned Championship player of the month topped off an excellent week by playing every minute of a 3-0 win over Queen of the South that secured the league title for Hibs, ending their three-year exile from the top flight.

Aidan Nesbitt, Jamie Lindsay and Luke Donnelly (Greenock Morton)

Morton’s poor form continued with defeat to Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park, leaving the Cappielow club without a victory in their last six games.

Nesbitt played the full 90 minutes, Lindsay was replaced with 19 minutes remaining and Donnelly failed to make it off the subs’ bench in a frustrating afternoon for the young Celts.

Paul McMullan (Dunfermline Athletic)

The Pars recorded a 2-0 away win at Dumbartonto ease fears of being dragged into the relegation battle, with McMullan playing the full 90 minutes.

English Championship

Scott Allan (Rotherham)

Relegated Rotherham ended a 10-match losing run with a 1-1 draw at home to Birmingham City, but Allan was again not involved.

English League One

Eoghan O’Connell (Walsall)

O’Connell was restored to the starting line-up for Walsall’s 1-1 draw at Shrewsbury Town, playing every minute for the side who currently occupy 14th spot in League One.

Leo Fasan (Port Vale)

Fasan was restricted to a place on the bench as relegation-threatened Port Vale fell to a 3-0 home defeat against promoted Sheffield United.
