ABERDEEN take on Hibernian in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden on Saturday and the Dons fans will be hoping for a similar outcome to when the two sides last met in a Scottish Cup semi-final…

RED TILL DEAD (Clarkston) – What was the score when Aberdeen last met Hibs in a Scottish Cup semi-final?

The Dons came from behind to win 2-1 in front of 22,193 at Hampden on April 9, 2000.

Russell Latapy opened the scoring in 56 minutes but the Dons hit back with two goals in four minutes from Arild Stavrum and Andy Dow in the 64th and 68th minutes.

Aberdeen went on to lose the final 4-0 to Rangers.

BRIDO (Crookston) – With the Scottish Cup semi-finals approaching, I was wondering if you could tell me when Greenock Morton last appeared, who their opponents were that day and give the score and scorers?

The last time Morton appeared in a Scottish semi-final was the 1980-81 season, unfortunately they were beaten by the eventual winners Rangers 2-1 at Celtic Park in front of over 27,000.

The scorers that day were Colin Jackson and Bobby Russell for Rangers and Andy Ritchie for Morton.

Rangers went on to triumph in the final against Dundee Utd after a replay, the first game ending 0-0 with the second game ending 4-1.

TOMMY (Cumbernauld) – Growing up in Currie I can remember the talk among family of Hearts' new star the late Alex Young, but by the time I started to attend games he had moved to Everton so I never saw him wearing the maroon. Can you remind me of the successes he had at Everton, and any Scottish team-mates, he had there?

Alex moved to Everton in season 1960/61 after being part of the Hearts team which won the Scottish First Division title in seasons 1957/58 and 1959/60 as well as the Scottish Cup in 1956.

At Everton he was in the squad which won the English First Division Championship in season 1962/63 and was in the team which won the FA Cup in 1966, defeating Sheffield Wednesday 3-2, coming back from two goals down.

Two of his team-mates in the Wembley final were Scottish internationalists Alex Scott, formerly of Rangers, and Jimmy Gabriel, who arrived from Dundee.

A fourth Scottish player in the opposition that final was Jim McCalliog who scored for Wednesday.
