Former Rangers star Ugo Ehiogu has died aged 44.

The defender was rushed to hospital after he collapsed at Tottenham's training centre.

Ehiogu, 44, who scored the winning goal – his first for the Ibrox club – in a 1-0 defeat of Celtic in 2007, had been overseeing the club’s under-23s.

Ehiogu, who made 200 appearances for Aston Villa between 1991 and 2000, wining the League Cup spent seven years at Middles-brough, where he also won the trophy.

He won four England caps and was signed by then Rangers manager Walter Smith in 2007.

His Old Firm overhead kick goal in April of that year was voted goal of the season by fans. He also played for West Bromwich Albion, Leeds and Sheffield United before retiring in 2009.
