Craig Gordon 6

Plenty of time to practise his ball control and kicking in the first 45 minutes. Made one save of note late in the day, from Kenny Miller. Ninety minutes untroubled, 90 minutes way from another Scottish Cup winners medal.

Mikael Lustig 6

Seldom threatened or troubled by Rangers, he spent most of the day making sure Patrick Roberts ahead of him could charge on. Not quite cigar and slippers.

Jozo Simunovic 6 Only time in the spotlight came late on when Kenny Miller was convinced the Croat had handled the ball on the floor. Never a penalty, just a sign of desperation.

Dedryk Boyata 6 Like his fellow centre-back, saw lots of possession in first half as Rangers offered little. Similarly, pooped up on occasions as an attacking threat at corners. Easy day.

Kieran Tierney 6 Always a willing runner going forward down the left and completely suppressed anything Rangers tried to offer down his flank in an attacking sense. Effective, though hardly needed to be anything else.

Scott Brown 7 So much space, so much time, and always in a position to offer team-mates an out-ball or stifle the odd Gers attack. Totally unflappable and a real captain’s performance.

Stuart Armstrong 7 Maybe a bit more subdued in this game than he has been during the rest of 2017. Went close with an early curling effort that had Foderingham scrambling. Always looked in control and seldom hurried.

Patrick Roberts 6 Might have been expected to be more of a threat down the right as he saw plenty of the ball in the first period. But the potential threat he posed was enough to keep Beerman quiet.

Callum McGregor 7 After his nightmare penalty miss of 2016, put that right and Celtic on the way to the final with an expertly, side-footed finish after just 11 minutes. Drove and pushed constantly in to Rangers territory, could arguably been man of the match.

Scott Sinclai 7 Despite dominating possession, Sinclair was one of several Celtic players to be solid rather than dazzling. Yet, still managed to add to his goal count for the season with the clincher from the spot.

Moussa Dembele 4 Set up McGregor’s opening strike but did a hamstring attempting a back-heel to win a corner. Could be costly.

Substitutes

Leigh Griffiths 5 Arrived after 34 minutes to replace Dembele. Tested Gers keeper with one effort but instrumental in the all-important second goal when he outpaced Tavernier who felled him for the penalty. Always lively.

Tom Rogic 4 Brought on to replace the tiring McGregor and put a lid on any ideas Rangers may have had of setting up a late rally.

James Forrest 3 Only given eight minutes when he came on for Roberts. Still always nicer to celebrate on the pitch.
