PEDRO CAIXINHA reckons Rangers will head into their final three Premiership clashes with their confidence restored following the dramatic win over Partick Thistle.

The Light Blues bounced back from the successive Old Firm defeats to Celtic at Hampden and Ibrox with a much-needed derby victory on Sunday.

It was another frustrating afternoon for the Gers as they struggled against Alan Archibald’s side and fell behind to Kris Doolan’s first half opener.

But winger Barrie McKay stepped off the bench to fire home an equaliser with just eight minutes remaining before Joe Garner converted Kenny Miller’s cross in the final seconds to clinch a last-gasp victory.

Rangers host Hearts this weekend before they round off a disappointing campaign at home to Aberdeen and away to St Johnstone.

And boss Caixinha hopes there is more to come from his side after they dug deep to secure all three points at Firhill.

He told RangersTV: “That is one analysis that we need to do. We did it with the players at half-time.

“But what really matters is how we ended up and that was with a win. It is always important, of course.

“Sometimes you want to forget the past and other times it is not possible to forget the past.

“But it is always better to forget the past building with victories and we did it. And we did it under difficult circumstances.

“Not the best first half, losing at half-time, the opponent having more in the game than ourselves. You need to fight all those situations.

“Regarding to that, I think it was a really good win in order for us to regain our confidence level and finish the last three matches in the best possible way.

“Which is all the time with this commitment, with this passion delivered to the fantastic fans that were here to support us, like all the times, and thinking always about winning.”
