CELTIC winger Scott Sinclair has given the strongest indication yet that he has no intention of quitting Parkhead to return to the Premier League in England.

Sinclair, a £3.5 million signing from relegated Barclays Premier League club Aston Villa back in August, has enjoyed a superb season since being reunited with his former manager Brendan Rodgers.

The 28-year-old is the top scorer in the Ladbrokes Premiership with 21 goals to his name and was named PFA Scotland Player of the Year on Sunday.

His success in Glasgow this season is sure to tempt top flight clubs down south and even abroad to make a move for him during the close season.

Yet, the player, who endured difficult spells at both Manchester City and Villa before joining Celtic, stressed he isn't interested in leaving and was already looking to helping the Parkhead club qualify for the Champions League next season.

Asked if he would consider joining a club in a bigger league if a bid was tabled in the summer, he said: "Not at all. I've found my happiness and I'm enjoying every minute at Celtic and I couldn't think of a reason to leave.

"I haven't even looked at that. All I'm looking at is enjoying every single moment, building on it next season, improving my game and coming back stronger."

Sinclair, who is under contract at Celtic until 2018, denied that he had come to Glasgow in order to rediscover his form and win himself a move back to a Premier League team in his homeland.

"That's not the case,” he said. “I wanted the enjoyment back so why would I want to leave and find myself back in a situation I was in last year or the year before? I'm in no rush to leave here.

"I’ve had all these moves before. I moved to City and it didn't work out, I went to Villa and got relegated and now I'm enjoying playing every week, scoring goals and being back to my best. Why would I want to ruin that?

“The main thing was getting my happiness back. Now I have. I don’t think I’ve been this happy playing football for a long, long time. The gaffer told me before I came that I would enjoy it at Celtic and get that excitement back. Now I’m back to my best.

“The fans here are unbelievable. I never realised how passionate they were. They've warmed to me as much as I've warmed to them.”

Meanwhile, Sinclair has revealed the inspiration behind his astonishing return to form with Celtic this season – world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua.

Sinclair is friends with Joshua and flew straight from his side’s 5-1 win over Rangers at Ibrox last month to be ringside at Wembley as his countryman defeated Wladimir Klitchschko to unify the IBF, WBA (Super) and IBO titles.

“Anthony is an inspiration to everyone around him,” he said. “What he’s had to go through, and boxing is a different path to football, it’s an inspirational story to every youngster out there who wants to pursue a career and stay focused on the track to where they are going.

“He is such a good, humble guy. He is a superstar now. When you know someone like that and can support him. It’s great to see what he is doing.

“I think I’ve been to his last three fights. I try to go to as many as I can if I’ve got time. It was a bit tight the last time, going from the Rangers game at Ibrox, straight down to London and then back the next day."
